OffshoreIQ

Privacy Policy

Effective October 16, 2026

OffshoreIQ shows ocean conditions like sea surface temperature and chlorophyll to help you plan time on the water. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell your information, and the spots you save stay on your device.

This policy explains what information the OffshoreIQ app (“the app”) uses, why, and the choices you have.

Information that stays on your device

Saved spots and notes. Locations you save and notes you add are stored on your device. We don't receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

Your location. If you allow location access, the app uses your device's location to show where you are on the map. Your location is used on your device and is not sent to us.

App settings. Preferences such as which layers you have turned on are stored on your device.

Information our servers receive

To show ocean data, the app downloads map layers from our servers. Like most online services, our servers and hosting providers automatically record basic request information, such as IP address, device and app version, and the time of the request. We use this only to deliver data, keep the service secure, and fix problems, and we keep it for a limited time.

Third-party services

The app relies on a few outside services. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.

What we don't do

Future accounts and subscriptions

We plan to add optional accounts and paid subscriptions. Payments will be handled by Apple through the App Store; we won't see your card details. Before accounts launch, we'll update this policy to explain what account information we collect and how it's stored.

Your choices

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
